I'm no historian, but I believe the name 'Smurf Poo' was coined over on British Blades (now gone, I think), when a knifemaker called Longstrider (aka Ian) sold it along with his home made strops. I have some somewhere, but I've only ever used it on knives. If memory serves it's approx 3 micron, so I don't think it's fine enough for razors, but I'm happy to be corrected on that.
