A cup of tea...

My dad has been advised, due to prostate enlargement, to drink decaffeinated tea, but an intial experiment with teabags has been disappointing - the tea lacked a certain something that my parents' usual loose-leaf has. Can anyone suggest a decaffeienated tea (preferably loose-leaf) that is close in flavour to a standard type, please?

Hi. I can't help you with loose decaf tea but I switched from pg tips teabags to the decaf teabags I couldn't tell the difference but a couple of days later I had a constant splitting headache due to caffeine withdrawal from ordinary tea bags

Hi!

Just a question from a newbie: here in Spain there are available almost all classic English teabags brands like twinings, tetley, typhoo or pg tips, but recently I found in a more specialized shop Yorkshire gold bags for almost double price...

So does that brand worth the money compared with the other ones? I know that loose tea will be always the best, but I like teabags for a quick & strong breakfast in the early mornings....

Regards

The Yorkshire Gold is a very nice tea but I'm not sure it's worth double the price of say Twinings Strong Breakfast Tea or even Everyday.
Am typing this quietly as my (infinitely) better half is from Yorkshire and brooks no debate over any competition to "Yorkshire Tea with Yorkshire Water".

You can always tell a Yorkshire person, you just can't tell them much!

Hi! Thanks for you opinion! So, do you think that Twinings black tea is better than other "common" brands like Typhoo, Tetley, PG tips, etc.? Because I found at first Twinings teabags too small for using with my mug (a big mug in fact) but if taste deserves I always can add two, hehe.

A little after the fact but I believe Redbush tea is naturally free of caffeine, rather than 'synthetically' decaffeinated. It also tastes pretty darned good. :)

Clipper fairtrade everyday tea. Brewed in a mug for 3 minutes, this is the most refreshing tea I've ever tried. Fantastic !
Great tea! Clipper also don't bleach their teabags which is quite reassuring! :D

For me, today, I'm trying out 3 new teas. Currently have some 'Twinings Lemon Drizzle' which I don't care for.
I've some Pukka Three Ginger and Pukka Three Cinnamon waiting in the wings! Being au fait with Pukka Vanilla Chai and Pukka Three Mint I'm looking forward to these two! :)

I can recommend Red bush, a herb and not a tea but as you say free of caffeine, a wonderful clolour and best to drink without milk imo and apart from tasting great it is reputed to have many health benifits. :) P.

If it's good enough for Blademonkey is good enough for the rest of us! :D
