First time with this little razor and I wasn't impressed.
It's very inefficient and when I hit the tougher 'tache and chin hairs it felt like they were being pulled out rather than sliced.
I loosened the handle a 1/4 of a turn for the second pass and it was a bit better. It still took a third pass to get a decent DFS.
Ah well, on to the next one.

First outing of an Astra with this razor and it did a cracking job! Nice and smooth out the box and mowed through about 5 days stubble. 2 and a bit passes and I'm smooth, but feeling the effects of not shaving in nearly a week - a little tingle was quickly and effortlessly sorted out by some BBA PSB. I don't use this soap as often as I should and it's performed sublimely.

Who's up next?! :D

Soap: S.V. Cosmo
Brush: Maseto 30mm 2 band finest Beehive
Post: BBA Balm

The shave this evening was all about the Maseto Brush kindly donated by @Rohleder via PIF that I am so grateful to have won. Thank you James for such a generous prize.

Firstly the density of the knot is out of this world.

Apologise for the poor lighting but hopefully you can appreciate what I mean.
The handle is weighty and extremely ergonomic, the flow through is superb as is the backbone and the supersoft tips.
If you want a face full of 30mm badger then look no further.
Its ability to load a ton of soap in no time is phenomenal.

A wonderful BBS 3 pass shave was had.

Enjoy Yours! :)

Moss scuttle
Elite Razor D7 Manchurian (27mm/51mm)
Acqua di Parma shaving soap (current version)
Delta Echo Ink Edition Feather AS-D2/UFO Titan Fine
Polsilver Super Iridium (6)
no aftershave today

Right after the shave, the soap's skin care seems to be at least as good as that of the original yesterday. I'll edit this later, after I've had a chance to experience it longer.

A very enjoyable, shave this morning, before work, albeit slightly rushed. A 2 pass shave - WTG and ATG on face with WTG and XTG on the neck area. DFS+/BBS- finish, no problems.

The Rocca was a joy to use, very good audible feedback, love the feeling of the Birch - soft to touch, but very grippy. I much prefer the R95 to the R96 - both perform excellently - the R95 just looks that much better.

My first run out with Musgo cream - it took me what seemed like ages, with little time, to get a half decent lather. It performed well. However, if I had more time, I would have built/developed a better quality lather. I was I must admit slightly disappointed with the lather - more my fault, I'm sure that the product.

Buy the way - the Chubby is held in a Kwak Beer glass stand :)

All the best,

Chris

Wickham Club Cola
RazoRock 400
Slicke Shavette / Derby Premium 1/2 blade
Rockwell 6C plate 4 / Treet Durasharp
Lime witch hazel mixture
Lynx Dark Temptation Aftershave

A tale of two razors for tonight's shave
I had three days growth so thought I would give the Slicke Shavette that was generously gifted to me by Elias, @captain_hx some time ago a try. I had previously only used it twice, so haven't a great deal of experience with it
I paired it with a fresh Derby Premium 1/2 blade and set to after face latherIng the Club Cola
In hindsight, I should have used some pre shave but the entire pass went well without mishap
Not wanting to push my luck I decided to finish the shave with my trusty Rockwell. It paired well with the Durasharp blade which is on it's second or third use.
Another pass WTG and another ATG comfortably saw off all remaining remnants of bristly growth.
Finished with Lynx Dark Temptation Aftershave. This is seriously good stuff. I can feel it nourishing and toning my skin for a good few hours after application. The scent is very nice too. Best of all, it only cost me £2.99 from Home Bargains.

My favourite Monkees track. . . . .hope you guy's like it too. . . ?
