August 2017 Acquisitions

Ladies and gentlemen,

I present to you the Yaqi Brush. . . .

First impressions are good.
The resin handle is a good size, and seems to be of good quality. It's easy to grip and hold.
The knot looks to be good.
The tips are ever so soft, and it appears to have adequate backbone.

For around a tenner delivered by Chinese air mail (around 14 days to arrive ) it can't be bad .

I'll use it for my evening shave today and report in my SOTD.

Nice. I may buy one and steam out the knot and replace with a Maseto.

Received the grooming kit won a couple of days ago. Have sorted out the keepables:

The US Ever Ready and case are shiney². The glass cologne bottle has a screw in splasher. The Burgundy cologne is about ⅔ full and smells really good. The travel brush boar knot is shedding, so will look for a synthetic re-knot and the brush tube has a plastic insert.
Not too bad result for £8.

Very nice!

I reckon that brush would take the knot from shaving.ie - it's a 19mm Muhle and would probably drop straight into the hole.

I know it is not shaving related but today at Chaplin's (kind of a bargain shop) bought a Denim Original shower gel. The scent is fantastic, just like their aftershave lotion and shaving cream, haven't tried it yet. I use Nivea for men shower gel, but from the bottle Denim smells much better and it is £1.

Best €3 I've ever spent, only needed a bit of work to make it a usable storage box for the FatBoy. Simple things at the moment are good for occupying my mind/time. Needed a fair bit of sanding & removal of brass pins on the lid. Ideally could have done with a mahogany wood filler for the holes, but I used white wood filler mixed with coffee lol. Bit of felt added for protection. I'm happy.
