SOTD : Saturday 12th February-Friday 18th February 2022.

Saturday 12th February

Soap • Ach Brito Mogno
Brush • Simpson Trafalgar T3
Razor • Rockwell 6C R3
Blade • Gillette Platinum (2)
Post • Brut Sport Style Aftershave

My least hated fish is sole . . .sole has no eyes - Roger Waters

That is just how I felt about this shave.
Everything worked, but it didn't inspire me in the slightest, much the same as my previous shave.
Dare I say it . . .perhaps it's me not enjoying DE shaves after using a Hawk almost exclusively since before Christmas?

Says me - razor tart!

Evening all,

Felt a bit off today so wasn’t going to bother with a shave. But then thought don’t be lazy and maybe you’ll feel better. So I did!

Prep, hot water and flannel
Razor, Razorock SLOC
Blade, Supermax Diamond Edge (2nd / 3rd use)
Brush, PAA Aerolyte
Soap, La Toja Stick
A/S, Bond Classic

Soap lathered up well. A nice smell. Went on nicely. It’s a long time since I used a stick and have never used La Toja. But I can see I’ll be using it again and keep some in the stash.

Usual 3 way pass. No issues, no irritation / weepers / cuts etc. Pleased with the results, a nice clean and close shave.

Have a good week all.

Best,

Ben

* Another razor and soap combination dragged kicking and screaming from the “second rank” cupboard. Although a quick look at Pils web site and I wonder if it should be put in the safe! The Pils is an excellent nose razor but of course it should be at the price! I got mine in a sale at KeDeWe in Berlin but I wouldn’t pay its present price despite its fantastic standard of finish.

Mon 14 SOTD
Soap Catie's Bubbles Irish Coffee
Brush SOC Cherry Wood Boar
Razor Wade & Butcher 13/16 Wedge New 1st Use
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel MitA + Stirling Haverford Splash
A perfect soap for Monday morning. Nice aromatic scent couple with a good lather generated by the superb brush!
I finally managed to receive my dream mid-1800s Wade & Butcher Sheffield razor! Nothing else but a wedge of course...hahaha. The razor is heavy... the heaviest among all my other SRs including the Dorko. Looking at the thick wedge, I was a little skeptical with the shave...boy was I wrong. Turns out to be a gentle giant! This razor's edge from the Seller was very very smooth and comfortable on all parts of my face & neck. 3passes for a dfs result...no issues at all. Absolutely enjoyed this excellent and famous W&B razor! Aftershaves were excellent too.
