I originally bought the Lo Storto as a bolt on to a Connaught order. The original plan was to try it and then sell it - I had already assumed I'd dislike it. It has proven to be a really enjoyable razor to use so I think I'll be keeping it. The Blackland brush is also a great little performer.

Pre: Cold water face wash
Brush: Semogue Torga C5
Soap: 1912 Citrus Musk
Razor: Karve SB - C Brass
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless (3)
Post shave: Cold water Rinse, TC's Orange and Neroli infused Witch Hazel
Balm: TC's Orange and Neroli E45/Argan Oil Balm
Aftershave: 1912 Citrus Musk

A very nice shave with a nice set up, i faced lathered with the C5 Boar brush today and revisited the soap as and when needed, this brush is starting to break in now and felt nice on the face, still a long way to go though.
The Citrus Musk is a very Neroli Forward scented soap which i know is not for everyone - @RussellR5555 ;), for me it hits the "i am clean and smelling fresh" button.
I find the Feather in the milder razors really works for me and paired with the C Plate Brass Karve gives a wonderfully smooth and comfortable shave.
3 Passes today for a very comfortable BBS Finish. I know i will get another nice shave from this blade taking it to 4, another YMMV part of this mad hobby we participate in.
Finishing with the Wickhams Citrus Musk splash to tie the end off todays shaving shenanigans, I enjoyed that.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

It’s a shame Wickhams no longer do the aftershave splashes..I much prefer a splash to a balm

Good morning gents

Soap - B&M Oceana
Brush - Dcosmetics Badger
Razor - Progress (5) (3) (2)
Blade - Tatra Platinum #4
Post - B&M Oceana

A79808D7-F5BA-4C20-8724-1903EEC99DCE.jpegMy first time with a B&M soap and can’t it take some water?
Despite the blade on its fourth outing this really was one of those shaves where I had to remember I had an extremely sharp piece of steel in my hand.
I really get the description of the scent, a day at the seaside minus fish and chips.
It’s like a suntan lotion kind of scent and I like this a lot.
Post shave is excellent, I’ve never chased BBS but this is almost there.
Im as happy as a Badger on the first day of mating season.

Have a great Sunday gents and stay safe.

Saturday Shave

Preshave: Argan Oil Soap
Soap: Signature Soaps Caledonia
Brush: 30mm Hulk synbad
Razor: Le Grelot 6/8
Spalsh: Hega Original
Balm: Bema Balm
EDT: Profumo Di Firenze

First outing with a little Le Grelot I put a low offer in on ebay and it was accepted, I have a soft spot for these Vintage French Razors , this one was in a bit of a state and was a bear to hone, but I learned a lot doing it and it was an excellent shave.

Sunday 28th March
Yaqi Sagrada Familia - Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood - GEM Micromatic OC - GEM Stainless Coated #2 - Brut Attraction Totale A/S - Aloe Vera Gel
JocK8yg.jpg

This lovely shiny Micromatic OC is a recent acquisition, thanks to Paul @p.b. It replaces my other OC version purely on aesthetics as that one has significant plate loss on the head.
The shave today was with the sample puck of Stirling soap which Paul gifted me. This was the first Stirling soap I'd tried. The scent was wonderful, as I do like the fragrance. The performance was also pretty good.

Oh wow didn’t realise you had put new scales on it too beautiful Russ

28/3/21

Pre - Cien Soap Free Facial Wash
Brush - Yaqi Plissoft 24mm
Soap - Arko Stick
Razor - Old Type
Blade - Gillette London Bridge (3)
Post - Witch Hazel/Lea Balm
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum w/Menthol

I used Arko for yesterday (Omega 11819) and today(Yaqi Plissoft)'s shaves with both brushes with knots of roughly the same size and even though I loaded around the same amount of soap for both shaves the Yaqi Plissoft clearly makes a lot more lather with a lot less trouble; comparing both lathers back to back, there's no contest.

I'd had two wonderful smooth and comfortable shaves with the new Gillette London Bridge blade in my bakelite Souplex razor, so for today's shave I put the same blade in my Old Type and the results were quite simply exceptional. If I had to compare it to another blade, I'd say it is close in performance to the PPI Perma Sharp, in how the blade feels a little rough to begin with but smoothens out within a pass or two in use.

Today's 3 pass (1 WTG, 2 XTG) was a very close and comfortable shave, a reminder the Old Type with the right blade is one of my favourite performers in the shave. I seemed to have little to no burn when I put the alcoholic splash on my face at the end of the shave.

Have a good Sunday chaps.

Sunday

OSP Fougere
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm synth
Face lather
Gillette Aluminium Ball End Tech (England, 1950s)
Gillette Wilkinson Sword
Thayer’s Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Pitralon Classic after shave

A lovely 2 pass shave today. Smooth as you like; and great performance/fragrance from the OSP. The Pitralon seems to pick up on the fougerey notes...
