S.O.T.D. Saturday 6th May to Friday 12th May 2017

OK, here we go,....first shave with an injector for over 40 years:
BBA Shave Oil
OSP Bay Rum
SV 2.0
Supply SE/Schick
Alum
BBA Bloody Balm

Wow, what a ride, using the "Classic", plate, the razor glided effortlessly across my face, could hardly feel the Schick but boy was it cutting through the stubble.
I ended up with a near BBS, but only after quite some re-lathering and some time.
The razor is very manoeuverable and finding the angle was very intuitive after a bit of practice.
Some areas were difficult to master when compared with my DE shaves, but others the Supply excelled.
The biggest problem is convincing myself that it is actually cutting as the razor is very smooth and comfortable on the skin.
Overall, a great shave, two or three weepers, but that's down to my inexperience with the razor in particular and DE/SE shaving in general.
The alum did its job in seconds.
Really pleased with the Supply and the shaves with it can only get even better.
Stay lucky......

Wednesday's shave - third with the ATT SE1 :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Coal Tar Soap, Gentleman's Groom Room Shave Prep Plus.
Razor - ATT SE1, Bamboo handle.
Blade - Feather Professional (day 3).
Soap - Executive Shaving Cream Shave.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 - Best Badger.
Post shave - Cold water splash, followed by DH Harris Skin Tonic and L'Occitane Cedrat Aftershave Cream Gel.

Another good shave with the ATT SE1, very pleased with the results. Still a little nervous when shaving with the SE.

Decided to use the Gentleman's Groom Room Shave Prep Plus today, as I find that this gives an excellent protective layer, which gave me some more confidence.

All the best,

Chris

First shave with the Asylum Rx and I can honestly say that it was the closest shave I ever had. But not the most confortable. Its optimal angle of use is a bit different from what I'm used to, and it doesn't give as much aural feedback as the Razorock Silverhawk, so that angle is a bit more harder to get it, but once you hit it? Bliss. The Kai Mild didn't perform very well for me with the Asylum. It tugged a bit on some areas. I'll keep using it with different creams/soaps and check if its performance changes a bit with further uses too. And get me some Feather Pro and Schick Proline to experiment with.

Greetings

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready Streamline
Blade: Ever Ready Corrux NOS
Brush: Plisson Synthetic
Soap: Taylor's Marlborough Stick
Aftershave: Simple Moisteriser
EDP: Chanel No. 19

A pretty good shave from this old blade, I gave it a few laps on a feox/balsa strop and several on feox/leather followed by plain leather. In the past I have failed miserably with exactly the same blades having given them an identical treatment, this small batch of blades have obviously come through the years a lot better and must have degraded less, very probably due to better storage conditions.

Regards
Dick.

Greetings,
Over the last few days i've had a good clean out in the PF shaving den, what i don't use after buying on impulse, when i first started DE shaving and other kit which has been passed on to me by friends..i've ended up passing them on to other friends, who want to try DE shaving for the first time...The following razors are what i'm left with, after the ruthless no nonsense den clean out.
PARKER RAZORS: 22R,24C(O.C.),48R,92R,94R,98R,99R.
MUHLE RAZORS: R89, R41.
MERKUR RAZORS: 34C,37C.

Fatip Grande.
GILLETTE RAZORS: Aluminum Handle Tech (ENG), Slim Twist.
Pearl:SBF-11.
Sharpy England HD.
Wilkinson Sword: "Classic".
Qshave: Futur Clone (awaiting).
The Grand total of: 18 RAZORS!!..which is a substantial amount..these are going to last me for the rest of my DE shaving life time, i was also going to purchase a Merkur 33C, but after the clean out..I seriously don't need anymore razors..I purchased a batch of Personna blades yesterday, and that's it for me buying anymore shaving related items for a long ,long time...Back to the shave...

My shave today has been the shave of the week..
The 94R/Voskhod paired up nicely together, resulting in a effortless 3 pass +pick-ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

I'll be giving the Nivea Men originals cream much more attention from now on after it's shaving performance today..
My face is feeling fresh, super smooth & smelling devine.

Enjoy your day,ladies & gentlemen.
